Welcome to the Department of Social Sciences, Queen’s International School.

I warmly welcome you to the Department of Social Science and wish you an amiable experience as you navigate our informative and exciting website. The Department is the largest and consists of four subject areas: Social Studies, History, Religious and Moral Education (R.M.E.) and Our World, Our People (OWOP). The department offers diverse disciplines from which you compulsorily select to fulfil your academic requirements.

The Department of Social Sciences aims at ensuring as much as possible a balanced development of the student with the ultimate goal of perfecting the individual awareness of oneself in relation to the world around him.

It, therefore, adopts the policy of interdisciplinary exposure which ensures that the students are not limited to their discipline. The various subject areas in the department guide and encourage students to cultivate and refine their mental awareness for identifying, defining, analysing and solving problems of significance to mankind. The Department emphasizes the development of effective research methodologies, geared towards the solution of societal problems.

As a parent at Queen’s International School, I could not be more proud of the holistic approach our school offers. The focus of Queen’s is to achieve excellence in every aspect of a child's life.. I find my son knowing who he is, aware of cultural dimensions and diversities and tapping into his talents with confidence. In the 10 years I've been there, I have never been alarmed, because the trained professionals at Queens are equipped to counsel both parents and teachers. An approachable proprietress steps in where needed with such expertise. In a nutshell, I couldn't have found a sounder and more functional school. I’m very grateful to be part of Queen's International School.

I chose Queen’s International after having contact with the CEO in 2010 who shared the visions of the school with me. At that meeting, the idea of holistic education was presented to me and not just pure academics. It included the total well being of my child; social, economic, moral, political and many more. It also included activities such as swimming, sports, chess and music (ABRSM). Over the pass years, all my 4 children have been through Queen’s International with the 1st one in Secondary school having graduated from the Queen’s while the last one is in Primary 3. I must admit that the quality of the teaching is clearly displayed anytime my children are with other children. This is demonstrated in in their choice of words, grammar and above all the confidence they possess to ask questions and get involved in discussions. I have not regretted being part of Queens over the past 13 years. I therefore wish to recommend Queens to anyone who believes in holistic Education for sound and solid foundation of their ward. Queen’s International is a family oriented school that practices and promotes a holistic curriculum. We pride ourselves on getting to know each child and their individual needs and grow a child through classroom education as well as soft skills needed for life. Our past students have moved on to great achievements and are testament to the value we place on educating our children. We have a Christian foundation but also welcome all faiths in our fold and we look forward to welcoming you into our family.
