Admissions

Admission to Queen’s International is by interview and written assessment, following a review and of:

  • A reference and transcript or continuous assessment record from present school.
  • A general observation of applicant during sampling school period which will normally take up to a week (or less – this only applies to children enrolling into the preschool)
  • All assessments, interviews and observations are conducted during a visit to the school.
  • Application must normally be made by April of the school year prior to admission.
  • Application to the preschool is possible at any time in the year between early years and pre-primary (one year to four years olds)
  • Application to the main school would usually be encouraged during the school year.
  • The school year runs from September to July and is divided into six half terms or three terms separated by vacations lasting just under one week for half term breaks and between three weeks and six weeks for main term’s holiday. Midyear admissions may be possible should a place become available.
  • Admission is granted on the basis of the schools assessment following the interview that the applicant is both able and willing to fulfill not only all academic but also all non-academic requirements.
  • At interview for admission to the main school, applicants must also normally take a written placement test which covers English, Mathematics and Science.
  • Admission is fully secured only upon signing of an admissions agreement and payment of the admissions fee. The first term of approximately three months is regarded as a probationary period.
